What is the DarkMatter architecture? DarkMatter is a decentralized marketplace built on Tor v3 hidden services. Unlike traditional centralized markets, our infrastructure is distributed across multiple sovereign nodes to prevent single points of failure (SPOF) and maximize uptime. We utilize a custom-built engine optimized for high concurrency without relying on heavy Javascript frameworks.

How do I access the market securely? Access requires the Tor Browser. Never use clearnet proxies or gateways. Below are the only verified V3 Onion mirrors authorized for connection. Verify PGP signatures before logging in.

Why Monero (XMR) Only? We enforce a strict XMR-only policy. Bitcoin (BTC) and other transparent ledgers allow for chain analysis, which compromises user OpSec. Monero utilizes Ring Signatures, RingCT, and Stealth Addresses to obfuscate the sender, receiver, and amount.

Multisig Escrow All trades are protected by 2/3 Multisignature Escrow. Funds can only be released when two of the three parties (Buyer, Vendor, Market) sign the transaction, preventing unilateral theft.

Mnemonic Seed Phrase DarkMatter does not use email addresses. Upon registration, you are issued a 12-word mnemonic seed phrase. This key is cryptographically generated and is the ONLY method to recover a lost password or reset 2FA. Store this offline immediately. Support cannot restore accounts without the seed.

To maintain quality control, the vendor bond is set at $500 USD (payable in XMR). Established vendors from other markets may apply for a bond waiver via the Recon/Dread verification system. All vendors must have PGP 2FA enabled and maintain a 95% positive feedback rating.

Disputes are handled by human moderators. Auto-finalize timers are set to 14 days for physical goods and 48 hours for digital goods. If a dispute is opened, both parties must provide evidence (tracking, conversation logs). The moderator holds the third key in the multisig setup to finalize the transaction.
